Maybe one of the most rhetorical phrases in this thing we call the "English Language" is "where did the time go?!"...and no matter how many times you hear someone else say it or utter it yourself, it always seems to capture the moment in a perfect way...acknowledging the fact that life never stops and that it is such a beautiful and amazing thing...not simply because of us, but entirely because of who our author is. And what a script He has majestically written upon the lives of two of his angels...our Evan and Taryn...who recently celebrated the start of the Chapter TWO in their lives. Because we are in the middle of temporary duty here in DC that has us traveling back and forth each month, it was a smaller celebration than it would be had we been at home...but to spend it together...and spend it in the nation's capitol....and during the cherry blossom festival....priceless! There was even an awesome fireworks over the Potomac River to cap off their birthday....absolutely amazing. They both are doing great...loving each other and loving life...and exploring every facet of it. They are taking the big city in stride and have enjoyed things like going to the Children's Museum (foreign concept to the state of GA) and touring around downtown. Sprinkles' cupcakes served as the impromptu birthday cakes due to the lack of cooking facilities here in the TLF on Bolling AFB. But hey, when your children prefer a combo of broccoli, blueberries, strawberries, mandarin oranges and banana over a sugar-bombs like icing and candy like E-man and SweetPea do, you just smile...and thank your nutritional lucky stars! (and then enjoy their leftovers :)) What a great day...and an amazing second year with our precious twins. Here are a few moments from their day:
